Stone Driveways of New England is a family owned and operated division of Seymour Sealing Service, Inc.
Founded in 1966, we built our company from the ground up; working with municipalities, commercial properties, and homeowners. Our extensive experience with road and driveway construction makes for successful projects and satisfied customers.
We believe in giving back to the communities where we live and work. We sponsor many local and national organizations and feel strongly about community service. Click here to learn more about our philanthropic efforts and the some of the organizations we support.
We take pride in our personal relationships and want to know more about you. Here is more about us:
Graduating from Quinnipiac College in 1965 with a major in Business Administration, Chip started Seymour Sealing Service, Inc. the following year with a $4000 investment in an Etnyre liquid asphalt distributor and started sand sealing driveways.
In 1970, Chip landed his first municipal contracts in the towns of Hamden, Oxford, Woodbury and Middlebury as the driveway division continued to grow.
In 1984, Seymour Sealing Service, Inc. was the first Connecticut company to acquire a chip spreader. The trend amongst towns migrated from the sand seal to chip seal process, and Seymour Sealing Service, Inc. become a trusted source for road maintenance, pioneering the double chip seal process first used in the town of Litchfield.
With our tremendous growth, Chip’s wife Marty became the office manager and continued with the company until 2007.
From the late 80’s until the early 2000’s Seymour Sealing Service, Inc. set the standard for the chip seal industry. Using the most state-of-the-art computerized equipment, Chip focused on municipal road resurfacing and maintaining outstanding customer service.
In 2003, Chip gave control of the day-to-day operations to his son Matt. With his invaluable expertise, Chip still maintains a position on the company board and consults on company endeavors.
Matt started working with the company summers in high school and college. After graduation he went to work full time for Seymour Sealing Service, Inc. in 1992.
With his vast experience working on the Municipal division, Matt redesigned the residential program and created Stone Driveways of New England. The two-man crew rapidly grew into a full division of the company, meeting the demand of discerning homeowners that wanted the durability of a paved driveway with the beauty of stone.
In 2006, Matt built what is now considered “home” to both Seymour Sealing Service, Inc. and Stone Driveways of New England in Wallingford, Connecticut. Matt takes great pride in continuing the fine quality of workmanship and outstanding customer service of Seymour Sealing Service, Inc. and extending them to Stone Driveways of New England. He maintains the most advanced equipment and has committed using recycled materials whenever possible, making Stone Driveways of New England unique within their industry.
Karin started with the company in 2007 as a receptionist and bookkeeper. She quickly progressed to office manager, executive assistant and scheduler of day to day operations. Karin maintains communications between our company and customers and is often the voice you hear when you call. Karin uses phone, email, texting and mail to facilitate communications regarding a project and is a wealth of information on our company and services.
Unlike a traditional paving company, we cannot apply liquid asphalt in wet conditions. This often makes keeping an exact schedule difficult. Karin’s years of experience are irreplaceable when it comes to meeting the challenge of maintaining a schedule in a business that is completely weather dependent.
Karin can generally be reached between 9a and 3p weekdays.
Jake and his family and the Neal family have a long history of working together. Jake brought over 30 years of paving and grading expertise to the company in 2009, and we are all the better for it.
Jake runs the day to day operations of Stone Driveways of New England and is the customer’s “go-to” person for any questions related to their project. Karin and Jake work closely to make sure that your project runs smoothly and your expectations are exceeded.
